About Angelica Galvao
Angelica Galvao, born on May 21, 1986 in Brazil, is a renowned martial artist and one of the leading Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt grapplers globally. In 2015, she achieved victory at the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF)’s World No-Gi Championship, followed by winning the World Championship as a brown belt in 2014.
Galvao’s journey into jiu-jitsu began after witnessing a bout in 2003 before officially starting her practice in 2004. Her success continued with significant wins such as the IBJJF European Open Championship in 2015 and two triumphs at the IBJJF World Pans Championship as a brown belt in both 2013 and 2014, culminating in her promotion to black belt status.
In addition to her achievements within the sport, Angelica Galvao is also notable for marrying fellow Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner Andre Galvao; together they share one daughter.
