About Anna Hillinger
Anna Hillinger (born November 7, 1977) is a young adult author from California. She gained recognition for her novel Learning Not to Drown, which was published in April 2014.
Prior to her literary success, Hillinger served as the editor of her high school newspaper and earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Long Beach State.
As a member of the Society Of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators, she received two nominations for the Sue Alexander Most Promising New Work Award.
Hillinger married Mike Shinoda, guitarist of Linkin Park, in 2003. The couple has two children together.
