IU, born Lee Jieun on May 16, 1993 in Seoul, South Korea, is a prominent South Korean pop singer. She debuted in 2008 on M! Countdown with her debut single “Lost Child.” Throughout her career, IU has released hit albums such as Last Fantasy and Modern Times. She has also collaborated with Min Yoongi for the song “Eight.” Known for covering songs by other Korean artists like Super Junior and Girls’ Generation, IU’s own music has been featured in movie soundtracks.
