About Margaret Tudor
Margaret Tudor was born on November 28, 1489, in London, England. She was the Queen of Scotland from 1503 until 1513 as the wife of James IV of Scotland. After her husband’s death, she became queen dowager and then queen regent. She later married twice more and died in 1541.
Before fame, she grew up in London with her siblings Prince Arthur, Henry VIII of England, and her sister Mary Tudor. She was named after Margaret Beaufort, Countess of Richmond and Derby and followed Roman Catholicism.
Her parents were Henry VII and Elizabeth of York. She had six children with her husband, but only one made it to adulthood. Her second marriage was to Archibald Douglas, 6th Earl of Angus in 1514; however she later divorced him before marrying Henry Stewart, 1st Lord Methven in 1527.
