Adriana Calcanhotto, born on October 3, 1965 in Brazil, is a renowned world music singer and songwriter. She is well known for her trademark melancholic pop music which has garnered her success with over a dozen albums released over the span of nearly three decades.
Prior to gaining fame, Calcanhotto’s musical career took off with the release of her first album “Enguico” in 1990, which primarily consisted of song covers that she had performed in various restaurants and bars. Notably, her cover of Caetano Veloso’s “Naquela Estacao” was featured in the soundtrack of the soap opera Rainha da Sucata.
Calcanhotto comes from a musically inclined family – her father Carlos Calcanhotto was an Italian musician while her mother was a Brazilian dancer. Additionally, she married film director Suzana de Moraes from 2010 until 2015.
