Amy Astley, born on June 5, 1967 in the United States, is a prominent journalist known for her significant contributions to the media industry. She gained widespread recognition as the founding editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue in 2003 and led the publication until May 2016. Prior to this role, she served as the editor-in-chief for Teen Vogue’s test issues from 2000-2002.
With a B.A. in English from Michigan State University, Astley has made an indelible mark on journalism and publishing throughout her career. Notably, under her leadership, Teen Vogue received Adweek Magazine’s start-up of the year award in 2004.
Astley continued to shape contemporary media by serving as editor-in-chief of Architectural Digest magazine where she sought to re-brand it for the digital age – garnering attention that was featured by The New York Times in March 2017.
Astley married Christopher in 2002 and together they have two children.
