Angie Kate Cunningham, born on February 2, 1973, in Launceston, Australia, was a tennis player and disability rights activist. She gained recognition as a multiple-time runner-up at Wimbledon and the Australia Open while primarily competing in doubles events with partners such as Nicole Pratt and Jo-Anne Faull.
Prior to her tennis career taking off, Cunningham made history by becoming the youngest player to win the Pardey Shield tennis title at the esteemed Tasmanian schools competition when she was just 13 years old.
In 2012, she received a diagnosis of Motor Neuron Disease but courageously used this adversity as a platform to advocate for individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses. Tragically, Angie Kate Cunningham passed away on October 4th, 2016. She is survived by her parents Bill and Susie Woolcock, two siblings, husband Pat and their two daughters.
