About Anne Carson
Anne Carson is a Canadian poet, author, and professor born on June 21, 1950. She is widely recognized for her contributions to the literary world and was honored with the T.S. Eliot Prize in 2001.
Carson gained acclaim through her 1998 verse novel Autobiography of Red and also earned renown as a translator of Ancient Greek literature.
During her high school years, Carson developed an interest in Greek and Roman literature which led her to pursue studies in Classics at St. Michael’s College of the University of Toronto.
In addition to her poetic work, she collaborated with Robert Currie, whom she married, in co-teaching a course titled Egocircus at New York University. Furthermore, her dramatic piece Jude: The Goat at Midnight was produced as part of Project Sixty Six at London’s Bush Theatre in 2011.
