About Anne Frank
Anne Frank was a Jewish Holocaust victim known for her diary which described her family’s evasion of the Nazis during World War II. Born in 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany, she and her family moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands to escape persecution. It was there she received a blank book on her thirteenth birthday for which she wrote The Diary of Anne Frank.
Tragically, after two years of hiding, the Franks were betrayed and sent to concentration camps. Anne died from typhus at Bergen-Belsen along with her mother and sister; only their father Otto survived. Though gone too soon, Anne’s words have become an enduring testament to the human spirit in times of adversity.
