Anne Murray is a Canadian pop singer who was born on June 20, 1945. She achieved international fame with her hit song “Snowbird” and has sold over fifty-four million albums worldwide. Murray has been the recipient of four Grammy Awards and twenty-four Juno Awards.
Prior to her music career, she worked as a physical education teacher at a high school in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. Anne Murray holds the distinction of being the first Canadian female solo singer to reach #1 on the U.S. charts.
Aside from her musical talents, Anne Murray is also an avid golfer and made history by becoming the first woman to score a hole-in-one at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY.
In 1975, she married Bill Langstroth but later divorced in 1998. The couple had two children named Dawn and William.
