About Anne Perry
Anne Perry, born on October 28, 1938 in Blackheath, England, was a British novelist known for her historical detective fiction books. However, she gained notoriety for her murder conviction as a teenager. Together with her friend Pauline Parker, she was convicted of murdering Parker’s mother, Honorah Rieper. After serving five years in prison in New Zealand for the crime, she moved to England and changed her name to Anne Perry. Her first book, The Cater Street Hangman, was published in 1979.
Perry passed away in 2023. Before gaining fame as an author or facing legal trouble as a teen, she struggled with various health issues during her childhood.
During her time living in the United States, Perry became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Born Juliet Marion Hulme and raised by Henry Rainsford Hulme (a scientist known for helping develop the British hydrogen bomb) in the Bahamas and New Zealand.
