Gloria Henry is best known for her role as Alice Mitchell Dennis’ mother on the popular sitcom Dennis the Menace from 1959 to 1963. But there’s more to this talented actress than meets the eye! For starters, she studied at the Worcester Art Museum School in New Orleans before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in radio and commercials. Her first lead role was in the 1947 film Sport of Kings. Then, in 1949, she married Craig Ellwood and they had three children together. The couple eventually divorced in 1977. Gloria also co-starred with Jay North in the sitcom Dennis the Menace.
