About Tia Torres
Tia Torres, born on June 11, 1960 in California, is best known as the founder of the Villalobos Rescue Center, the largest pit bull animal shelter in the United States. She gained recognition through her appearances on the Animal Planet reality series “Pit Bulls & Parolees.” The shelter was initially established in California before being relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana.
Prior to her fame, Tia left home at the age of 17 with a variety of pets including horses, a goat, and dogs. Her diverse career experiences include work as a truck driver and service in the US Army. Following her military service, she worked as a youth gang counselor.
Despite coming from a broken home and being raised by her stepmother in California, Tia has built her family which includes daughters named Tania and Mariah alongside twin boys adopted from Hawaii named Kanani and Keli’i. She also married Aren Marcus Jackson.
